What is PDP context?

When PDP (Packet Data Protocol) context is activated we are able to transfer data. In practice this means that when you start a WAP or PC dial-up application, the GPRS connection between the phone and the network is created. It will be indicated in the display when the GPRS connection is on. When you end the application, the GPRS connection ends but the registration to the GPRS network remains.
PDP context also means that an IP address is given for the mobile and other subscriber related parameters are activated. First Nokia terminals have one connection (PDP context) at a time e.g. WAP over GPRS connection will be closed automatically when the GPRS dial-up (i.e. using GPRS with your laptop computer) connection is started.
